Reading & Writing for Academic Goals
These classes build on reading and writing skills to meet future academic upgrading or post-secondary goals. Topics covered may include: organization, critical thinking, paragraph and essay structure, reading comprehension, and grammar.
Reading and Writing: Phonemic Awareness
This class on foundational literacy skills focuses on the building blocks of reading and writing. The goal is to understand letter-sound relationships, that is, the ability to notice individual sounds in the spoken language and understand that letters and letter combinations represent these sounds. The goal is to develop spelling and printing skills and to enable reading and writing success.
Reading and Writing for Life Goals
These group-based learning classes practice reading and writing strategies for every day life literacy and social interactions. Topics covered may include: vocabulary-building, reading comprehension, spelling development, and printing.
Reading and Writing Civics
Are you interested in understanding how political structures and processes work? What are some ways in which you can make your voice heard within the political process? Are you concerned about how digital/social media platforms impact democracy and shape public discourse through the spread of information, misinformation and disinformation? Come join the conversation. This class is for you!
Reading and Writing Grammar
If you’d like to improve your basic writing skills, please join us to discover, for example, when to use the present instead of the present continuous tense, or how to compose sentences, or to understand the power of prepositions. This course supports people to learn and practice a range of reading and writing skills with the aim of empowering learners to make positive changes in their lives by bettering their foundational writing and composition skills.

These classes are intended for individuals writing the GED exam or working towards academic upgrading. Topics covered may include: number systems, rational numbers, algebra, problem-solving, exponents, and geometry.
Math/Numeracy for Employment Goals
These classes are designed to review basic computational and problem-solving skills to advance in current employment or increase job opportunities. Topics covered may include: fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, powers, roots, graphs, formulas, and geometry.
Math/Numeracy for Life Goals
Life Goals means math that is relevant for every day life, such as tipping, budgeting and doing taxes. Topics covered may include: foundational basic math skills, vocabulary, problem-solving, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and money math.
Computers Programs
Basic Digital Skills
These classes are intended for individuals with no digital skills, looking to develop their literacy and be able to establish a firm foundation of basic digital skills such as use of a mouse, keyboard skills, basic toolbar and scrolling features in programs like Microsoft Office, opening and closing computer applications, and searches for information and resources online.
Advanced Basic Digital Skills
