What we do
About Us
The Learning Centre engages people in community-based learning and literacy development.
The core purpose of The Learning Centre Literacy Association (TLCLA) is to help adults with the development of literacy and numeracy skills. Most TLCLA participants are either seeking work or hoping to improve their work prospects through attending programs at the Association. Programs include one-on-one tutoring, literacy and numeracy classes, and independent learning with tutor or instructor support.

Our Services
Our Community-based Programs
Reading and Writing
Improve your reading and writing skills to meet future goals. Topics covered may include critical thinking, paragraph and essay structure, reading comprehension, and grammar.
Creative Writing
These classes are an opportunity to read and write short stories and poetry. Topics covered may include character development, writing plot points, exploring poetry, and editing.
Basic Digital Skills
This course will equip students with basic computer skills. Topics covered include: creating, saving, and sharing documents, printing, email, and basic search techniques.
Math/Numeracy
These classes are intended for individuals writing the GED exam or working towards academic upgrading. Topics covered: algebra, problem-solving, exponents, and geometry.
Langue Française
Développez vos compétences en communication, lecture et écriture en français. Ce cours est conçu pour renforcer et améliorer votre aptitude à communiquer efficacement en français.
