The Learning Centre Literacy Association has been providing community-based adult literacy and related programming in Edmonton since 1981. With roots in Edmonton’s inner city, the Association has been based downtown with Boyle Street Community Services since 1986.
In response to identified needs, the Association has also been offering literacy programming in northeast Edmonton since 2005 and in 2008 the Association established a permanent site in Abbottsfield Mall. In both locations, facilitators and volunteer tutors work together to provide person-centred and participatory literacy and related learning opportunities for adults.
